Emeritus Faculty, Security Executive Council
Ed has over 34 years of experience in the security and law enforcement profession. Most recently, Ed retired as Director of Global Security for the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) located in Cincinnati, Ohio after a 20-year career. P&G, a 65 + billion dollar company, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer goods products with business operations in 85 countries and 130,000 employees. Ed had complete responsibility for worldwide security programs, personnel and decisions.
Prior to joining P&G, Ed was a Special Agent with the US Treasury Department, Criminal Investigation Division, Internal Revenue Service. He conducted and directed financial investigations focusing on white-collar crime. Ed also worked directly with the US Secret Service providing protection coverage to foreign dignitaries and senior US government officials during the nation’s bicentennial celebration and the 1976 Presidential election campaign. He was also an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA.
Ed attended the University of Cincinnati where he earned a degree in accounting. He completed executive management programs at the University of Michigan Business School and at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Ed held leadership positions with several international security organizations and groups. He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security where he served as Council Vice President and chair of the Council on Business Practices. He also served on the professional development committee as a member of the International Security Management Association. Ed worked with the US Department of States’ Overseas Security Advisory Council where he was chair of the Country Council Committee. He is CSO Emeritus Faculty for The Security Executive Council.
