Marilyn A. Sussan recently retired from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) where she was Division Chief for Administrative Services, Security and Corporate Procurement, responsible for the delivery of a wide array of corporate services including Security, Corporate Real Estate and Facilities, Insurable Risk, Travel, Procurement and Contracts, Records Management, and Corporate Sustainability.
At IDB, she was responsible for modernizing and integrating the Business Continuity function into the Corporate Security operation, implementing revised Incident Response and Crisis Management procedures and training for executives, incorporating Corporate Security and Real Estate in a team approach for property search and selection, and introducing the concept of Organizational Resilience in managing operational risk in the institution. Marilyn’s career at IDB spanned over 25 years, initially in leadership roles in procurement and contracting. She has also held positions in state government and private industry.
Marilyn earned her Bachelor’s degree at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She holds a lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) credential from the Institute for Supply Management and is a past president of its local affiliate. She also served as a mentor in IDB’s formal mentoring program for many years, assisting young professionals in their career development. In their leisure time, Marilyn and her husband can be found riding their motorcycles and raising funds for Veterans’ causes through the American Legion.
