Jerrod Johnson, CPP, has been a physical security professional for over 19 years, and has had the opportunity to work for some of the nation’s most iconic retail brands, including Target, Best Buy, and PetSmart Stores. Jerrod is a broad-based physical security technology expert, having a hand in the development of some of the world’s largest digital video platforms, and is known for re-inventing the security value proposition through the introduction of technology-based business solutions.
At PetSmart, Jerrod served as the Director of Corporate Security, Global Investigations, and Corporate Security Systems. Jerrod developed the enterprise active shooter threat mitigation program, served as program manager and architect for the corporations first enterprise IP video deployment, and supervised a team of talented investigators responsible for the resolution of product claims, e-commerce and digital investigations, internal theft and fraud, organized retail crime, and brand-risk investigations.

Jerrod holds a BS degree in Security Management from Southwestern College and is a Juris Doctorate candidate at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He has held the Certified Protection Professional designation since 2013, holds Certified Project Management Professional (CPPM) and 6Sigma certifications from the University of St. Thomas, and is a Healthcare Provider CPR/First Aid Instructor through the American Red Cross. He is a former volunteer Reserve Police Officer with the City of Ramsey Police Department.
