Tom Mahlik joins the Security Executive Council faculty team (Jan 2021) preceded by 35 years of security, law enforcement, crisis response, and risk management leadership experience--Commercial and Government.
Tom’s immediate past position was with Delta Air Lines as Director Corporate Security Programs, a position during which he led an integrated portfolio of core security programs focused on facility risk assessment, access control, employees at risk, aggressive intruder mitigation and the development of adaptive enterprise security systems and technologies. This position was preceded by executive roles with the MITRE Corporation where he as Corporate Director of Global Security Services and as a business unit security Director at the Raytheon Company. In all three positions, spanning more than ten years (2010-2020), Tom was a lead architect in aligning, transforming, and in delivering company-wide security services, programs, and systems.
Tom’s private sector entrée was preceded by 25 years of domestic, international, and multi-disciplined (counterintelligence, counterterrorism, cyber and criminal) field and agency level leadership positions as a special agent with NCIS. He also served with the Defense and Justice departments as an interagency and intelligence community senior executive, including successive tours within the National Security Branch at FBIHQ focused on threat assessments and community outreach.
Tom received a B.S. degree in marketing from Arizona State University and attended the Kellogg School of Management Executive Program.
