Assistant Director of Asset Protection

Description:

This position oversees all facets of asset protection and security for the entire agency. The position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction as well as day-to-day management of the Loss Prevention, Security and Reception departments. Designs and implements agency wide loss prevention solutions and security procedures that will improve operational execution, reduce shrink, and ensure a safe work environment.

Establishes and oversees all training programs to create awareness, understanding and compliance with agency loss prevention policies and procedures. Oversees audits, investigations and enforcement of these policies and procedures. Promotes and cultivates an environment consistent with the values and culture of the agency, including honesty, integrity, and courage.

Accountabilities:
*Development and execution of the Loss Prevention Department's strategic plan
*Increase agency's overall profitability by developing and implementing industry best practices in areas such as staff and participant training, enforcement and audits
*Identify vulnerabilities, establish appropriate standards, and implement policies and procedures to prevent theft and security risks
*Identify, prioritize, and implement effective shrink reduction strategies across the entire supply chain, including donations, transportation, warehousing and retail.
*Develop physical security standards and related procedures for all locations that will ensure the safety and security of employees, participants, customers, donors, as well as agency assets
*Act as a liaison with law enforcement and regulatory agencies

Responsibilities:
*Manage all facets of loss prevention, security, legal, and ethical investigations by executing proper case management from onset to final resolution
*Develop and oversee loss prevention and security awareness training programs that will promote awareness, understanding, and compliance while also enhancing positive communication and messaging
*Build fully engaged and high performing Loss Prevention, Security Guard, and Reception teams focused on achieving results consistent with best-practice standards while also supporting the mission and values of the agency
*Formulate and maintain departmental budgets
*Develop reports that provide actionable insight on loss prevention and security incidents and developments
*Recommend and coordinate security vendors, manage camera installations, and arrange service/repair of security equipment including burglar alarms, keys and locks etc. at all Agency locations
*Implement and maintain auditing programs to assist internal personnel with asset verification and delivery
*Serve as the principle conduit to the agency's senior management team for insight and advice on how to establish world-class loss prevention and security programs and initiatives
*Develop strong internal relationships with the Value Recovery, People Services and Corporate Services teams to identify loss prevention and security priorities and solutions.
*Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

*College Degree in criminal justice or business related field and/or minimum of (10) years of experience in retail specific environment in Asset Protection or Loss Prevention related field.
*5 years, supervisory/management experience
*Wicklander-Zulawski Certification preferred but not required
*CPP and/or LPC designation preferred but not required
*Proven strategic thinking as well as operational management skills
*Possess strong leadership and analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational skills with the ability to develop and enhance strong partnerships; self-motivated and excellent attention to detail.
*Must have experience using exception reporting, knowledge of common POS transaction software and proficiency in MS Office software applications
*Must be able to maintain confidential information
*Ability to work with a diverse and challenging workforce
*Ability to handle difficult situations professionally, calmly, discretely and with diplomacy
*Must be able to work a flexible work schedule
*Demonstrated knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one's own, able to work effectively with all of them.
