Coeur Mining is the largest U.S.-based silver producer and a significant gold producer with five precious metals mines in the Americas employing approximately 2,100 people. Coeur produces from its wholly owned operations: The Palmarejo silver-gold mine in Mexico, the San Bartolomé silver mine in Bolivia, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. The Director of IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security is responsible for the overall IT infrastructure architecture and services shared across the company (corporate and mines), as well as the overall cyber security defense for the organization. Its main objective is to provide secure, stable, reliable and cost-efficient IT infrastructure solutions to enable the operational business activities. Additionally, lead the effective introduction and adoption of technology solutions to improve business productivity. This role has accountability for the design, implementation and performance management of data centers, servers, networks, telecommunication, cyber defense technologies and other platforms shared across the mines and the corporate sites. Responsibilities: Infrastructure and Cyber Security Strategy: Vision and thought leadership: define and lead IT vision, architecture and roadmap related to IT infrastructure and cyber security, actively contributing to the overall IT Strategy and IT Plan Technology standards: define technology standards and best practices for global implementation Innovation: identify opportunities to apply innovative technology solutions to increase business productivity, to reduce cost and to minimize risks Vendor management: establish and lead strategic vendor relationships, to ensure that technology solutions are recommended, planned and implemented to optimize the value of IT infrastructure investments Capacity planning: plan and recommend changes to the capacity to achieve service level objectives and meet present and future requirements of the organization Effectiveness: balance short-term operational needs with long-term strategic goals. Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, computer information systems, or computer engineering Minimum 10 years IT Infrastructure experience including 5+ years managerial roles Strong understanding and appreciation of operational process/procedure development and its application in a production environment Experience effectively managing 3rd party IT service providers Significant experience with enterprise IT architecture and cyber security strategy Strong understanding of various IT technologies (e.g. Servers, Networking, Virtualization, MS Windows, Cloud, etc.) ITIL Certification a plus, other professional/technical certifications as appropriate. Project and program management experience Good communication, analytical, and presentation skills Experience in planning and managing departmental expense and capital budgets Must have a strong dedication to customer service Bilingual English-Spanish strongly preferred Flexible to travel
