Within our Information Security Team, we are looking for a Director of Security Operations. This person will be reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, and plays a key role in the success of the Information Security Group. This role is responsible for protecting Argo’s computers, networks, and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses, or attacks by cyber criminals. The ideal candidate will oversee our Managed Security Service Provider’s (MSSP) Security Operations Center (SOC) which includes the following services: Operations, Defense, DevOps, Governance, Privacy, and Physical Security. This person will develop and drive the implementation of security strategies, technologies, and services. They will provide direction to MSSP staff, manage the budget, and report out on the effectiveness and maturity of the overall Security Operations function to executive leaders.

What does a Director of Security Operations’ workday look like?

  • Define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing information security.
  • Understand, evaluate, and respond to security incidents.
  • Responsible for information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating trends, identifying problems, and anticipating requirements.
  • Keep up to date with emerging security threats and conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Certifications: CISSP, CISA, or CISM
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with increasing responsibility in an Information Security or Compliance role.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role with multiple direct reports and/or Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in regulatory industry is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and NIST Risk Mgmt Framework
