Job Summary

Role Summary: The VP, Chief Information Officer– manages a USAA technology portfolio, develops overall strategy for systems development, and directs the information technology activities within IT. Drives innovation and adoption of industry best practices in the delivery and support of state-of-the-art infrastructure that enables a USAA digital enterprise including usaa.com, USAA’s mobile application and its social media presence. Performs strategic and operational planning, ensures application development is effectively delivered and manages to best in class cost efficiency and system availability standards. Also provides direct and indirect member support with member messaging, collaboration, document infrastructure, workflow, business to business, marketing, automotive purchase and ownership, and information security/fraud solutions.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Leads design and execution of USAA’s information technology strategy, taking into account USAA’s business strategy and complex regulations and nuanced supervisory expectations, including how they apply in a matrixed commercial environment.
  • Role models USAA’s mission, core values, culture and desired behaviors – including a culture of risk and regulatory awareness and accountability.

  • Experience with resource management to include capacity, financials and expense management of portfolios valued over 1 billion USD.
  • Strong program management vision and expertise in producing the right flow of data and insights to inspire action and decisioning across technology.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in a multi-discipline, agile and continuous integration environment.
  • Recent experiencing leading in a financial services with strong understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to technology capacity.
