Description:

The VP, Security Operations is responsible for understanding and articulating the threat profile for Advisor Group’s priority assets and will execute the security operations strategy for the Company, including cyber security operations encompassing administration, engineering, and threat detection. This position will partner with, and integrate security standards, risk and compliance requirements and best practices mandated by the Company’s Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Technology Officer. Responsibilities: Lead a co-sourced team charged with enhancing an enterprise threat detection and response center (SOC), analytics and threat hunting, as well as security and/or IT risk function accountable for translating security intelligence and resulting risks into actionable responses and threat mitigation. Manage response to security incidents for home office and advisors, including coordination with Corporate and liaison with local authorities to lead and manage incident response tabletop exercises. Elevate security resilience by developing a robust home office and advisor vulnerability and continuous testing program using COTS, custom, and opensource solutions. Manage shared services for detection and monitoring capabilities (application, infrastructure, and business process), security administration and engineering including the deployment of supporting tools and definition of security operations SLA’s for the business. Partner with other technology functions to continuously enhance existing operational security controls such as system protection agents, network perimeter defenses, and application level controls.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree preferred.

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of security operations strategy experience as well as extensive experience overseeing cyber security, threat detection, risk mitigation and subsequent operational teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of security principals, cyber incident tools and engineering, security analytics and security intelligence.
  • Experience with financial regulatory operations and the associated risk mitigation.
  • Makes sound, timely decisions in managing the operations of high-visibility channels, with keen attention to procedures and regulatory requirements, and in response to client and field input to address issues and opportunities as it relates to security operations.
