The Security Lead Coordinator will serve as a security subject matter expert and will ensure all regulatory security requirements are met for a regional geographic area. The incumbent will act in the role of the Security Manager, during their absence. The Security Lead Coordinator reports directly to the Security Manager who reports to Corporate Security with dotted line reporting to the plant Vice President or designee. Through utilization of a predictive and integrated enterprise risk management process, the Security Lead Coordinator assists in designing and implementing localized security solutions that safeguard personnel, business operations and critical assets. Per the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), the Security Lead Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Site Facility Security Plan to ensure the site is prepared to respond to changes in the MARSEC Level. The Security Lead Coordinator directs and supervises the security programs at the site, in addition to fulfilling the regulatory mandates of the MTSA. Under general supervision of the Security Manager, the Security Lead Coordinator implements programs, policies, procedures and processes in support of Cheniere’s Enterprise Security strategies, including but not limited to: conducting complex security risk assessments, investigations, root cause analysis, and assisting with other general security and initiatives. Maintains good working knowledge of a wide variety of security regulations, best practices and issues. Maintains awareness of proposed changes to security/regulatory regulations, evolvment of physical security technology and industry best practices. This position is responsible for coordinating activities and establishing strong liaison between local contractors, regulatory agencies, and law enforcement.

  • Education and Certifications: Associates degree or higher in Homeland Security, Security Management, Emergency Response, or relevant discipline or equivalent military, security, or law enforcement work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience with at least three (3) years of supervisory/leadership role experience in physical, security or complex criminal/administrative investigations, Facility Security or equivalent law enforcement, military experience. Recent Facility Security Officer (FSO), Maritime Security or relevant experience including security and emergency response preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the Incident Command System. Proven capability in preparation and presentation of information to a varying audience.
  • Skills: Proven written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Excel, Word, Power Point) Ability to establish a work environment where workers at all levels are motivated and encouraged to express themselves. Effective communicator at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies. Proficiently schedules, coordinates, plans and monitors multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Accomplished presenter, able to create and deliver industry-specific presentations. Ability to work in a “self-directed” environment and consistently anticipate the needs within the terminal and deliver on time. Makes decisions on complex to highly complex issues regarding work approach around project components and completion of team/work group tasks/responsibilities. Often operates in ambiguous situations and provides process/technical/functional guidance to others.
