Position Summary

This position provides strategic leadership in guiding the strategy, responsibilities, and deployment of personnel, projects, technology and funding to advance corporate security throughout the organization

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise and appropriately delegates to corporate security direct reports and contracted security personnel to execute activities specific to the safety and security of CPS Energy employees, locations and physical equities
  • Provide management and oversight of access control at all facilities, work-site perimeters and corporate headquarters with the use of technical security solutions
  • Develop and implement strategic security planning for short and long-term goals, in accordance with the overall corporate vision and in compliance to federal, state and industry standards (FERC, NERC, ERCOT)
  • Respond, as required, with written and/or oral presentations to CPS Energy leadership on physical security posture and risk mitigation
  • Regularly review security costs and cost structures for security and products so that the financial implications of projects and activities are communicated to the proper business executives
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and practices in security force and program management
  • Maintain and update, as required, comprehensive security policies, plans and emergency notification procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data collected in the course of business regarding customers, employees, and professional partners
  • Represent CPS Energy on industry related committees and professional organizations
  • Maintain and cultivate professional networking relationships across federal, state, local and private sector arenas
  • Assess and monitor deployment of resources to promote efficiencies and ensure cost effectiveness Other duties as assigned


Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
  • Leadership experience, to include managing a team and conducting performance reviews
  • Ability to handle both long term and short term goals simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Access, Visio, and Microsoft Project
  • Extensive experience in law enforcement, security management, threat intelligence, and/or investigations
  • Skilled at quickly grasping the critical elements of a business challenge, performing or directing necessary analyses, and using the resulting insights to lead the team toward a clear course of action to effectively address the challenge

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, representative of professional career fields related to law enforcement, security, compliance, criminal investigations, threat intelligence or public safety
