This position will assume the Regional Director of Corporate Security responsibilities in their absence. This role plans and directs the region’s investigative function and physical security functions under the guidance of the Regional Director of Corporate Security. Accountable for planning, developing and implementing the region’s physical security and investigative programs and strategies. Directs the activities of the investigators and physical security specialists to ensure compliance with company policies, legal and regulatory requirements. Represents the Corporate Security on various market and/or area committees and working groups. Conducts briefings with departmental management, corporate management and law enforcement as necessary.


  • Oversee day to day operations of investigative and physical security personnel within the region
  • Track activity, incidents and physical security needs
  • Develop strategic relationships and act as liaison between Charter
  • Communications and project integrators
  • Manage the facility security assessment process and ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures
  • Cultivate the security team by assigning responsibility, managing accountability and providing opportunities for growth
  • Coordinate finance for capital security project activities with department program
  • Develop standards and procedures for physical security projects that implement systems for the protection of company personnel, assets and information.
  • Manage the facility security assessment process and ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures at all Charter Communication facilities
  • Ensure that the security programs and strategies of the organization are effectively implemented and maintained

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Knowledge of Federal, state or local regulations relevant to the company (i.e., PCI, CPNI, SOX, HIPAA, and data privacy affecting theft of cable service preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills, as well as the ability to deal with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company
  • Comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice, court system and private security regulations
  • Basic knowledge of data analytics and social media tools for threat mitigation and internal communications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of the complexities of software and networking; how the systems work together
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion
  • Ability to use arithmetic skills accurately to complete daily paperwork
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comprehensive understanding of physical security threats and investigations
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills
  • Experience managing business resumption/recovery programs

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience

  • 10+ years combined experience in conducting investigations in the military, local law enforcement or corporate security environments
  • 2+ years management experience

  • Working knowledge of Charter Communication’s incident management and project tracking systems
  • PSP (Physical Security Professional - Certification)
  • CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
