The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will be responsible for the information security of APEI and it’s subsidiaries. This includes both our Cyber strategy, threat monitoring and long term plans as well as overseeing and managing day-to-day SOC operations and delivering on annual plans. The CISO will manage a dedicated team of cyber security professional as well as organize and run a federated organization with Cyber security responsibilities. The CISO reports to the CTO, EVP.


Required Skills: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to think strategically and innovatively Ability to make rational decisions with a sense of urgency Flexibility in an ever-changing environment Willingness and ability to learn new skills Ability to work under pressure, within deadlines, and independently or with other team members Ability to continuously learn and develop new skills to maintain technical currency Proficiency in utilization of information security tools such as InsightVM, Nessus, Kismet, Airsnort, NMAP, Snort, Ethereal, Wireshark, Burp Suite, WebInspect, LogRhythm, Splunk, Nikto, and manual techniques to exploit vulnerabilities including but not limited to cross-site scripting, SQL injections, session hi-jacking and buffer overflows to obtain controlled access to target systems. (read more online) Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s in computer science, computer engineering or business technology required >3 years of experience leading and delivering information security assessments required Knowledge of information security concepts and experience applying them at scale required Experience performing information security risks assessments and control gap assessments required Experience with communication and independently leading projects to completion required.
