Senior Director, Safety & Security

The Senior Director, Global Safety and Security Services, directs Autodesk’s Multi-Million-dollar Global Safety & Security (GSS) Services Program. We are seeking an experienced leader responsible for Strategy and Business Operations. This position will be hands on, interact and coordinate with management across the company to plan, implement, and maintain/update all environmental, health, safety (EHS) and security management policies, procedures, programs, and strategic plans consistent with Autodesk’s culture and values. It is directly responsible for developing and leading strategy and integration of efforts for Business Continuity Planning, EHS, Global Security Operations, and the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) teams to support the Autodesk, Inc enterprise.

Our evolving safety, security, and resiliency programs are equitable, agile, and versatile to support the company’s growth and operating model and to protect our people and brand. In addition, this leader will be responsible to strategically develop and/or evolve the life safety training and emergency evacuation programs at all locations, support of security for corporate events, and liaison with local law enforcement and life safety agencies. This position requires a high degree of cross functional coordination, customer service, and interdepartmental communications. This high visibility position requires building and maintaining internal partnerships with key Autodesk stakeholders including Finance, Purchasing, Expense Management, A/P, Risk Management, Legal, Audit, Enterprise Network Security; Information/Cloud/Product Security, site leadership, and C-Suite. Executive exposure is significant since day to day security impacts the environment of executive personnel at all our office hub and headquarter locations. Nothing is more important than the safety, security, and peace of mind of our employees, customers, partners and guests. This role shapes the strategic initiatives for Global Safety and Security around process and innovation that’s inclusive of emerging trends and contemplates the risk landscape to enable success from anywhere.


Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, skills & abilities
  • Exceptional communication leadership and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of Global Safety & Security programs
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize under deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high-trust relationships and form teams
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capability including project management experience leading cross functional initiatives with a desire to influence and lead change at the enterprise level
  • Thorough knowledge of budget management process and accounting/reconciliation of budgets
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving and finding appropriate solutions
  • High level of customer-service focus
  • Professional and mature attitude with measured response to working under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years work in Global Safety & Security or equivalent area
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively with subject matter experts on cross-functional teams, balancing disparate priorities, and rapid problem solving in high-stress situations
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams to drive success
  • Experience in accounting including building and managing budget processes
  • Experience managing multiple priorities
  • Strong customer service and problem resolution experience
  • Experience with problem solving for technology and vendor issues (key driver of work-around philosophy) how best to get the most desired results within designed protocols
  • Experience working with multiple levels of management, including C-suite
  • Experience creating and presenting strategy to executive level management
