SEC Awards Three Collegiate Scholarships for 2026-2027

September 1, 2026 – The Security Executive Council is pleased to announce they have awarded three $2,500 scholarships to students of excellence at its partner academic institutions, which are recognized for their outstanding programs in security, risk, and intelligence.

The winners of the 2026-2027 Security Executive Council Scholarships:

Logan Wallace: Intelligence studies student; Mercyhurst University

Carrick Blake: Cybersecurity student; Kennesaw State University’s Center for Cybersecurity Education

Rebecca Jones: Risk management & insurance student; University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business

The SEC launched its scholarship program in 2022 to encourage and support excellence in the next generation of security leaders. Each scholarship is awarded after consideration by the SEC Scholarship Committee, which is made up of SEC staff, successful former and current security practitioners, and faculty from the universities.

"By providing this scholarship, the SEC continues to foster an environment of learning and leadership in academics, ensuring the future of risk and security analysts is strong," said Brian Fuller Executive Director, CIRAT, Mercyhurst. "Mercyhurst University and the CIRAT are proud to partner with SEC on this endeavor and excited to see SEC award Mercyhurst student Logan Wallace the 2026 scholarship. SEC remains steadfast in its support of higher education and the future of the risk and security industry."

"Carrick’s selection by the SEC committee reflects his exceptional academic performance and dedication to the field. He is well on his way to a successful career in cybersecurity."

"I'm honored to receive this support from the SEC," said cybersecurity student and award recipient Carrick Blake. "This award affirms my hard work and motivates me to continue growing as a cybersecurity professional. I’m proud to represent Kennesaw State University and look forward to contributing to a safer digital future."

"The Darla Moore School of Business and its Risk Management and Insurance program greatly appreciates the generosity of the Security Executive Council (SEC) in sponsoring a scholarship for one of our outstanding students, Rebecca Jones," said Greg Niehaus, Interim Dean and Professor of Finance and Insurance, Darla Moore School of Business, USC. "These scholarships illustrate the SEC’s commitment to helping build the next generation of security and risk professionals. Rebecca is a junior double major in Finance and Risk Management and Insurance. She is a member of the school's Women in Business Council, and she interned this summer at the Harford Mutual Insurance Group."
