Security Executive Council Launches SEC Live with Nelson at Helm

January 27, 2009, Washington, DC—Building upon its reputation as a creator of innovative security industry leadership solutions, the Security Executive Council (SEC) will officially launch its new Security Executive Council Live online presentation series on February 17. The first SEC Live event will be The Impact of Economic Recession on Security Program Management: Recognizing and Managing the Shift in Business and Risk Assumptions.

The new live series will deliver unmatched custom content and value, says former Teradyne CSO Joe Nelson. Nelson has joined the SEC Faculty as the organizer and manager of this security leadership information-sharing initiative. “My role is to ensure that every SEC Live session is based on real-world problems and solutions,” he says. “We are doing this to make [security practitioners] more successful. We want to be the resource that was not available to us when we needed it.”

Security Executive Council Live will give security practitioners in any location worldwide access to live seminars, presented by industry thought leaders, that deal with executive-level leadership concerns such as industry research and benchmarking, career and influence issues, security measures and metrics, emerging issues, innovative solutions, strategic planning, security operations and policies, standards and regulatory compliance.

The first SEC Live event will feature presenters Richard A. Lefler, Dean of Security Executive Council Faculty and Former CSO of American Express; and George K. Campbell, Security Executive Council Faculty/Contributing Editor and Former CSO of Fidelity Investments. In The Impact of Economic Recession on Security Program Management: Recognizing and Managing the Shift in Business and Risk Assumptions, Mr. Campbell and Mr. Lefler will pose a series of questions that will help attendees understand how the economic downturn is impacting their companies and security programs. Attendees will come away from the presentation with insights on what tactics and strategies can be used to minimize the impact the economy may have on their company and how ranking risks helps determine the value and importance of security programs as mitigation strategies.

The Impact of Economic Recession on Security Program Management will be held at noon EST on Feb. 17. Registration is $150. For more information or to register, visit https://www.securityexecutivecouncil.com/secstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=77_99&products_id=329.

SEC attendance guarantee: If for any reason a registered attendee cannot attend, the recorded presentation will be made available for use at a later time.
