About the Role

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Manager role is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment which requires the application of a wide range of security solutions to worldwide safety & security challenges. The GSOC serves as a trusted, centralized communication resource with 24/7 overwatch and response to events impacting the safety and security of Splunk's global workforce, assets, and operations. As a key leader of the Physical Safety & Security team, you'll focus on continued development and management of a dynamic team of security professionals and overall program strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Global Safety & Security, you will have the opportunity to refine the program architecture to enable Splunk to promote its business and products.

What you'll get to do

  • Lead and develop a dynamic team of GSOC professionals and provide strategic, technical, and operational oversight to security operations worldwide
  • Develop and refine operational processes, procedures, and methodologies and operationalize and continuously innovate to enable a highly-functional GSOC
  • Lead operations 24/7 monitoring of physical security systems (access control alarms, video surveillance equipment, fire/life safety systems) and partner internally to dispatch resources and investigate concerns
  • Source and apply best-in-class technologies, equipment, SaaS, and vendors to monitor, evaluate, and mitigate real time risks and ensure effective response to natural and human-made events that may impact Splunk
  • Maintain and refine strategy around situational awareness capabilities, critical incident response, required communications, and documentation
  • Provide team training and development around standard operating procedures and establish performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the GSOC program and personnel
  • Conduct assessments and investigations to account for employees and assets in emergency situations, engage incident responders or crisis management teams, coordinate logistics, and provide appropriate direction to personnel
  • Disseminate timely mass notifications, situational reports, and verbal briefings
  • Drive process refinement, project management, cross-functional collaboration, maintain internal relationships, understand end-user requirements and translate the impact of events in business terms

Qualifications:

Must-have Qualifications

  • 8+ years of related leadership experience and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Understanding of core physical security standards, controls, technologies, tools, and common integrations
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze risk, manage issues that are broad in scope, and perform analysis of data to facilitate decision making. Experience developing effective measurable programs using metrics collection and analysis
  • Experience drafting business policies and procedures
  • Strategic approach to customer satisfaction through broad partnership and continuous improvement
  • Outstanding ability to efficiently develop accurate, brief, and clear presentations and confidently present to a broad audience
  • Confidence working independently, under pressure, with tight deadlines
